Our Background / Who We Are

Public safety cannot rest on the shoulders of law enforcement agencies alone.

As much as we need the police, they need our support as well.

The Yarmouth Police Foundation, Inc. was established in 2013 by business and civic leaders as an independent, non-profit organization to promote excellence and improve public safety in Yarmouth.

The Town of Yarmouth and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts do not have available funding to support an upgrade in facilities, new infrastructure, equipment and technologies. Personnel and operating cost absorb most of their annual budget.

They depend on outside help and resources to support innovated programs to reduce crime and protect our community and defend our Town.

The Yarmouth Police Foundation (YPF) supports programs designed to help the Yarmouth Police Department keep pace with rapidly evolving technology, strategies and training and will have a measurable impact on the safety of our Town.

Our work is made possible through the support of our members, sponsors, business and individual donors.

The YPF works closely with the Yarmouth Police Chief to develop a strategic program plan. The Foundation encourages and supports the YPD in two main areas:

  • Equipment to improve the effectiveness of the Departments activities
  • Outreach to strengthen the partnership between the police and the residents of Yarmouth

The Foundation provides resources that are not available through other means; serves as a vehicle for tax-exempt gifts and grants from individuals, businesses and philanthropies; does not solicit by telephone or use of telemarketers.

Help us support the men and women in blue defend our Town.

Please join us by contributing as generously as you can. Contributions to the Yarmouth Police Foundation, Inc. are tax-deductible under Section 501(c)3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. All gifts are tax deductible to fullest extent of the law.
