The Yarmouth Police Foundation (YPF) supports programs designed to help the Yarmouth Police Department keep pace with rapidly evolving technology, strategies and training and will have a measurable impact on the safety of our Town.
Donations made to the Yarmouth Police Department:
MILO RANGE SIMULATOR – $62,000
An interactive simulator for safe and realistic training options for patrol officers, that extend past their basic
training, and of which exposes them to the same threats and dangers as their big city counterparts.
K9 STORM INTRUDER – $32,000
Bought the Live Action Camera System and K9 Storm Patrol Swat Vest primarily used for tactical operations
allowing officers to see what the K-9 is seeing when out of sight and/or during a search.
A DRONE – $8,000
Purchased a drone to improve safety during searches from a distance or altitude where tracking is too risky or
difficult. Also used for the bracelet program for those lost due to illness.
OUTSIDE K-9 KENNEL – $30,000
Funded construction of the Peter McClelland K-9 Kennel at YPDHQ for police dogs that is a safe place to stay
while their partner in court or in the precinct; fully heated and air conditioned to withstand the elements.
PROTECTIVE RESPONSE PARKAS – $14,000
Supplied safety parkas for all officers at construction sites and directing traffic, in honor of Patrol Officer Brad
Erickson who was killed in the line of duty in 2007 directing traffic
COLLECTING DONATIONS – to establish an officer training complex at the Yarmouth Police headquarters:
